Installing Pathway Tools Patches

This page provides instructions for installing patch files for Pathway Tools software.

Auto-Patch

To automatically install all relevant patches:

• Select menu command Special->Misc->Install Patches->Download....
• If that causes an error message to appear, you can instead download all the relevant patches from the Internet, using a web browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. The instructions depend on which operating system your BioCyc or Pathway Tools is installed on and which version number (shown as [[VERSION]] below; version is formatted like 7.5) of BioCyc or Pathway Tools you have:
  • Solaris: Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Solaris/patches/ and save them to aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/ . Also, download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Solaris/patches/ and save them to aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/bin-acl-6-2-sparc-solaris/ . Then, select menu command Special->Misc->Install Patches->Activate....
  • Linux: Download all .lisp files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux/patches/ and save them to aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/ . Also, download all .fasl files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/Linux/patches/ and save them to aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/bin-acl-6-2-x86-linux/ . Then, select menu command Special->Misc->Install Patches->Activate....
  • MS Windows: Download all files from http://bioinformatics.ai.sri.com/ptools/[[VERSION]]/MSWindows/patches/ and save them to ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/ . Then, select menu command Special->Misc->Install Patches->Activate....

Patches that We Email You

• Save the files to:
  • Solaris: aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/ for .lisp files or aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/bin-acl-6-2-sparc-solaris/ for .fasl files
  • Linux: aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/ for .lisp files or aic-export/ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/bin-acl-6-2-x86-linux/ for .fasl files
  • MS Windows: ecocyc/genopath/released/patches/
• Then, select the menu command Special->Misc->Install Patches->Activate....
